THE KENNEL BOXING GYM | ILLUSTRATIVE LOGO & BRANDING
The Kennel Boxing Gym is located in the heart of San Leandro, nestled in an industrial business park right off the freeway. Here you can see and smell the hard work that fighters, and those just seeking to better their fitness levels, put into their workout. The Kennel Boxing Gym is where they bring the proverbial dog out of you. It's where you're trained to be the best you can be in body and mind, but also to be ready to strike if you have to. I wanted to capture this sense of focus, tenacity, and toughness with the illustration style. I avoided the use of Boxing Gloves or a Boxing Ring to signify it as a fight gym... I just felt that was overly used with fight logos. Instead, I made the logo more personal to the gym itself by incorporating their beloved dog Champ as the focal point. As far as their fight team goes, I'm glad that I was able to assist them with a logo that they can be proud to wear and represent in competition.
